While compact crossovers are great for adding utility to your weekly routine, if you require extra seatbelts for your larger Silver Spring family, you'll need something a little bigger. However, that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice maneuverability. Enter the Volkswagen Atlas. This versatile three-row SUV offers roomy accommodations, flexible cargo capacity, and a wealth of standard and available amenities. And while it may be Volkswagen's largest model, it's surprisingly easy to drive, with engaging driving dynamics that are difficult to match in its class.
Introduced just a few years ago, the VW Atlas is still going strong in its first generation. Nevertheless, Volkswagen has some exciting changes for the acclaimed SUV's midcycle refresh. Here's a quick look at some of the updates for the 2021 Atlas.
- New Look: While significant exterior style changes are typically reserved for generational redesigns, we're excited to see the 2021 Atlas' facelift. A new dynamic front fascia gives Atlas a bolder aesthetic, with a prominent three-bar chrome grille, revised LED headlight clusters, and sleek new bumpers.
- Updated Interior: Atlas' cabin has been modernized for a new decade with a new steering wheel, new stitching, and available V-Tex leatherette upholstery. The Atlas is also three inches longer, giving it even more rear legroom. Even adult-sized riders can travel comfortably in the third row.
- All-Wheel-Drive for All Trims: Last year, all-wheel-drive was available for models with the V-6 powerplant. This year, Silver Spring drivers can equip all-wheel-drive with the turbocharged four-cylinder as well.
